Behind the scenes: Swedbank Arena

One of the things i love about my job are all the cool previews; today at Swedbank Arena  – Sweden’s new national arena with capacity for 50,000 seated sports fans and up to 65,000 concert guest. Grand opening October 27th 2012! Follow me behind the scenes.

What surprised me most was it’s intimate feeling despite the fact that it’s huge. The arena is actually built to adapt for smaller for more intimate events. The sliding roof allows guests to enjoy events in comfortable conditions all year around. They’re also able to hold events on almost any ground, whether it’s on grass, ice, wooden flooring or gravel.

Still a building construction site

Clear blue sky when the sliding roof is being insulated

Chairs are just being put into place

Banquet venue for up to 2 000 people

The entire area, a new district named Arenastaden includes a Hotel (Quality Hotel Arena opens in 2014), a large shopping center (opens 2015), 750 new flats and work places for 15 000.
